長野行った。

It's a lot farther than it looks.

The derelict launch facility.

We set off fireworks with a bunch of the 8th graders from my school.

Then they wanted me to buy them ice cream. So I totally did. It was fun.

The power of Advertising! The power of Photography. No clue what this thing was, but with models that cute and photography that tight, I had to go.
It was about some tribes in ancient japan, and their bones. No cute girls were involved, but that was kindof to be expected. The 縄文 and the 弥生. The 弥生 seemed cooler.

Kim in the museum.
Astronaut Ice cream is 640円 here. Way too much. Of course I bought it.

It was pretty good.
I haven't really done uplink cause... I dunno, it's way too hot to do anything. And school's almost over.
Today, I ventured into the Japanese 田舎。 For real.
Awaking at 5:30 am, I met Rie and her parents at 川口駅。 We then drove for several hours in to... inaka.

It is a mountainous land of lush green fields, cliffs, winding roads, and giant power pylons. Giant concrete blocks of various sizes and smoothed out shapes litter the numerous riverbeds. Many rock faces have been smoothed over with strange man-made chemical compounds. And a giant artificial lake, that could have totally fooled me were it not for the signs, majestically sparkled upon a plateau.

Here Rie tries to interact with one of the 田舎 natives. Unlike 90% of the people we saw today, this particular person was not over 65 years old. In fact, she looked and reacted just like the scores of 4th grade students I've seen.
Seriously though, though I work with kids as my job and so I never see it, I now totally believe that there are an amazing amount of old people in this country. Even climbing a mountain -- 100% old people.

High quality strawberry soft-serve ice cream is availible in 田舎.

Opium is also availible. Its quality has not been determined.
That's all for Uplink this weekend.
Uplink. We drive 4 hours to 群馬県, so you don't have to.

Oh, and did I say how much I dig this little digital camera? It's like a sketchbook for what to make real photos of later.

Still uncertain what to do with myself here.

I bought a digital camera today.

Why? Well, it has a honest to goodnes flash-sync terminal. Kindof unprecedented. I thought only $2000+ digital cameras ever had those. But this was 7000円

Yeah... digital camera + strobes = fun:
